Out of Africa

Tomorrow, we leave Africa.  We have had a great time here as a part of the IVHQ program.  While we both have felt that the research part of the program needs a little tightening up, we have had a great time talking, sharing, and getting to know our camp-mates.  We have made new friends from Africa, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary and England.  We have existed these two weeks in a modern camp that has the power cut off every few hours for a period of hours.  This is due to an overtaxing of the power grid in this part of the country. We have become used to random power outages.  Keep your phone charged and cook by candlelight.  Everyone should try it.

Here are some more great animal pictures:

We saw the largest herd of buffaloes we had ever seen. Jon kept singing Ride em up and herd ‘em out. In our part of Kruger, we only saw one at a time. We saw hippos but didn’t get a great shot.

Zebras have their own stripes. Like a fingerprint they are all different but very similar. There are only two types of zebra, those with brown stripes and those without. We saw the brown striped ones today.

Here are some of the kids from the camp.

And the beautiful African sky.

Next up:  ITALY!!!
