Thailand - Week 2

Today we completed week 2 of our Hua Hin volunteer experience.  We have nothing but praise for the the Green Lion staff.  They have taken care of us so well, from food to transportation to our random questions, that I feel it may be difficult to return to navigating my travels on my own.  If you want to volunteer in Thailand, check out IVHQ and the Green Lion.

The schools in Thailand do not have the funding needed for general upkeep and maintenance.  By using volunteer groups, schools can get some much needed improvements.  The schools have asked for help from Green Lion. They provide us with local drinks and water. Each day the staff at Green Lion asks us what we need.  Although we are finished our work, still much needs to be done at this school. Here is some of our finished work.

The kids are super sweet and even the animals, cats and dogs alike, are family pets for the entire school.

Bridget got a visit from the doctor who felt she needed an updated Covid shot.

Some of our group members are skilled artists who did beautiful work with what we had available.

Smith and his shrooms.

Janice’s Buddha.

Janice and the kids.

No skill here.  Just slapping on white paint.

This was a wonderful collection of students, adults, travelers and simply nice people who worked hard every day to complete a task.

We are having a great time and we look forward to our next step, as we head to Bangkok tomorrow. Thailand is an easy destination so far.
